Earthquake Today 2013 Prompts Saudi Arabia, Bahrain Aftershocks

The major earthquake today 2013 has prompted significant Saudi Arabia and Bahrain aftershocks within the hour. The earthquake today in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain started roughly two hours ago. But officials have since told news that a series of aftershocks have continued to strike the Middle East.

Earlier today, shortly before 5:30 am PST, a strong 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck the Middle East. While centered in Iran, the quake was felt in neighboring Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. But that activity is still not ending, officials tell news.

USGS indicates to news those two hours later, by 7:30 am PST, three more aftershocks have struck the region. The aftershocks began at a 5.4 magnitude and have since dropped slightly.
Officials tells news that the first significant aftershock struck strong and shallow. It posted a nominal depth, beginning only six miles below the earth’s surface. The quake was fifty-nine miles west of Firuzabad, Iran. Officials also told news that the quake was sixty miles east of Bandar Bushehr and sixty miles southeast of Borazjan. The quake could also be felt seventy-seven miles south in Kazerum.
The most recent earthquake has begun roughly one hundred sixty-three miles from Bahrain’s Manama. That quake was eight-sixty miles south of Kazerun, and seventy miles south of Borazjan.
